I get your point but my question is how do we get to that point on a mass level. Yes, black folk can lift each other up as much as possible and become more proportionately middle or upper class.
BUT a huge part of the worlds perception of black folk is tv and movies. In order to shift an entire media paradigm of representation, we have to question why black People are always portrayed a certain way and how that portrayal is connected to. White supremacy and systemic racism and white dominated media corporations.
To me it’s deeper than “time will change it”. It’s “life is painful for black People in many ways. How do we fight for respect in a world materialized by colonization and greed and slavery?”
